I photograph natural and built landscapes, literal and metaphorical. As I enter into an internal dialogue with my surroundings the landscape becomes the aesthetic portal for the making of my photographs. This is where I document an environment and that which defines it, including natural and man-made features, and its people and animals. Through the lens I enter a place to see, to understand, and to communicate a sense of place. I make photographs that provide the viewer with an entry point, but I leave space for questions, exploration and discovery.
